Jamie McGuire has been clean and sober for 23 years.
He is the Addiction & Lifestyle Coach for the Arizona Coyotes.
There is a culture in sport that encourages and rewards excessive drinking and poor lifestyle choices. This need to change from the bottom and from the top.
Jamie shares his personal battle and his experience, strength and hope for the future in an attempt to help young athletes understand the dangers of Drug & Alcohol abuse.

Sitting in a room full of “know it all” elite athletes, I wondered how Jamie was going to get the attention of the room, let alone make an impact on them. With his powerful beginning, “Hi, my name is Jamie, and I am a alcoholic and drug addict”, he got their attention.
As a former hockey player, Jamie relates well with athletes. His message is a matter of fact approach relaying how easily “weekend fun” can turn into big time trouble through addiction.
His is a story that most of the audience can see themselves in. As a result, the potential for danger really sinks in, as the audience realizes that the beginning to Jamie’s problems mirror the actions taken by many young men and women.
As a hockey coach I understand how invincible young people feel. I understand how young people always feel that those “problems” would not happen to them. Addiction seems far off to young people. Jamie brings it right in front of their face. He shows them how real addictions happen to real people.
I would strongly encourage teams at every level to listen to Jamie’s message. It will make a lasting impact.

Our coaches come to your practice. Together we can create a customized training program to help develop your team's goaltenders during the season. This is an excellent option for goalies who can not attend our regular weekly lessons.

Have a goalie coach attend and video one regular season game. Our instructor will then sit down and watch the video with the goaltender to explain both the positives and negatives of the student's game. This is a very effective way to teach and helps students make quicker progress with their skill development.

Have a goalie coach attend and watch your goalie play one regular season game.
The goalie coach will then provide written + verbal feedback to the goaltender + goalies parents.

Our other video option is to simply provide us with a copy of a game video and a coach will then break the video down with the student in a 1 hour video review session.
When recording please only record when the puck is in the goalies zone.
