McGuire Goaltending has successfully run goalie training programs focused on goaltender development for several Minor Hockey Organizations, including: Markham Waxers Minor Hockey Association, Richmond Hill Hockey Association, Whitby Wolves Minor Hockey, Forest Hill Hockey Association, North York Storm Association, Oak Ridges Minor Hockey Association, Bradford-West Gwillimbury Minor Hockey, Toronto Non-Contact Hockey League, Central York Girls Hockey League, and Whitby Wildcats Minor Hockey. Additionally, we support 5 Adult Leagues in the GTA. McGuire Goaltending also provides professional goalie coaches for over 60 teams in the Greater Toronto Area.
If your Minor Hockey Association or Organization is interested in offering yearly, monthly, or even weekly hockey clinics focused on goaltender training development for your goaltenders, McGuire Goaltending can design and run these sessions for you. Your organization would only need to supply the ice and handle the registrations, while our Professional Goalie Coaches come directly to you.
In some cases, Associations and Organizations provide this valuable service to their goaltenders for free, but most will charge their goalies a special rate.
McGuire Goaltending charges a flat rate per clinic to the Association or Organization for its goalie training programs. This rate varies based on your location and the number of staff required for effective goaltender development.
Clinics must be at least 1 hour in length to maximize their effectiveness. In some cases, we will conduct a 1.5-hour session or back-to-back 1-hour sessions depending on the number of goaltenders in your Association.
Typically, all ages and levels of goaltenders, from novice to midget, will participate in a single session of our hockey clinics. The goalies will be grouped on the ice by age and skill level, ensuring they train only with those who are similar.
Some larger Associations, such as the Markham Waxers Minor Hockey, will provide 2 hours of ice weekly and split the goalies by age, as outlined below (Saturday mornings from September to March):
7am - 8am - birth year 2000 and younger (AE, A, AA, AAA)
8am - 9am - birth year 1999 and older (AE, A, AA, AAA)
Goalies are the most crucial component for team success, making it the hardest position to master in hockey. Implementing goalie training programs through specialized hockey clinics will help ensure consistency and stability in the net for all of your Association's or Organization's teams.
If you are interested in having McGuire Goaltending provide your Association or Organization with a quote or more information about goaltender development, please contact our office. We would be happy to discuss options and provide suggestions on how to start offering Professional Training to your goaltenders.
