Semi-Private Mentor Camp

8:45am - 4:00pm

Location – Canlan at York, Toronto

(MONDAY - THURSDAY) 

• Goalies are separated on the ice into two groups
• Group A - Ages 13 + 
• Group B - 12 and under
• 2:1 GOALIE / COACH Ratio

Daily Format 

• 8:30 - 9:00 - Drop-off at Canlan York
• 9:00 - 10:15 - Goalie Specific Dry Land Training
• 11:00 - 1:00 - On Ice Training
• 1:00 - Pick Up - Half Day Goalies
• 1:00 - 2:00 - Supervised Lunch (Bring own or $15 to purchase one)
• 2:00 -3:45 - Classroom, Hand Eye Coordination, Stick-handling, Pre-Game Prep Training, Visualization, Footwork and Agility
• 4:00 - Pick Up

FULL WEEK OR SINGLE DAYS AVAILABLE

Full Days or 1/2 Days Available

Goalies are assigned a Mentor on day 1 and that same coach works with them all week.  

The entire camp is built around each goalies needs.  Goalies develop a relationship with their mentor and are able to reach out to that mentor during the upcoming season with any questions they may have.

Only 2 Goalies per group.

Goalies receive a detailed evaluation from their mentor on the last day of camp.

On Ice Format

30 Minutes - Goalie Specific Skating that will help increase muscle memory and make difficult movements in games come more naturally.  

60 Minutes - Modern and Up to Date Skill Development Stations that will push goaltenders at any level to their limits and help provide them with tools for all possible game situations. 

   
20 Minutes - Battle and Competition (Game Situation)

FULL WEEK - $850 + HST

1 - 3 Days - $215 + HST Each

At McGuire Goaltending we place a strong emphasis on drills that will force goalies to improve their puck handling, timing, reflexes, crease movement and decision-making ability.

Canlan Ice Sports-York is the heart of hockey for the Toronto Area. We are conveniently located right on the York University Campus. Our facility houses 6 ice rinks all under one roof, with three meeting/conference rooms, a large bar & grill (Thirsty Penguin Grill house) and a full service Sports-Shop.   

Dressing the Younger Goalies

• Upon request we have staff that can help a goalie get dressed from start to finish
• Our coaches always pop into the dressing room to see if anyone needs help with their skates.

Things to bring to camp each day

• Full Goalie Equipment
• Please ensure that your child has a neck guard
• Sharpened Skates
• Labeled Water bottle (Clearly show name of student)
• Snack for before ice session
• Lunch or $15 to purchase one
• Shorts, T-shirt and running shoes for group warm-up

Cancellation Policy

There are no refunds for camps purchased.

We will consider crediting your account to be used within 6 months depending on the reason.
